With restaurants and shops just a short walk from your door, and the local shingle beach also walkable, La Scogliera is the holiday villa that you will never forget and will want to return to again and again. For pure relaxation in a wonderful environment, you could not ask for more.

There are stunning views of the sea from most rooms, from the terraces and from the pool, so you might not want to stir far. But if you do, you’ll be rewarded by all the charms of this much-photographed place, with its buildings clinging to the side of the cliff in picturesque fashion, its narrow winding lanes, smart boutiques, restaurants and cafes. You can take boat trips across to Capri, Ischia and the Grotta di Smeraldo or, if you like walking, why not head along the old coastal pathways above the village, like the Sentiero degli Dei, which also offers wonderful panoramic views of the coastline and sea. The scent of the lemon trees, the ancient olive groves and the vineyards along this stretch of coast will remind you that you are surrounded by the very rich history of southern Italy.

Returning to the villa towards the end of the day, why not take evening drinks on the terrace or by the illuminated pool, overlooking the lights on the hillside and the boats bobbing on the water below – idyllic. INSIDER TIPS

La Scogliera is one of the few villas on the Amalfi coast where you can step out of your front door and walk in to the centre of the village – there’s no need to get in the car at all! You can also walk to the beach, the shops and the restaurants, all of which are just a ten minute stroll. There’s a wonderful Jacuzzi on the terrace: this is a fantastic place to relax, maybe with a coffee or a glass of wine … All the bedrooms have their own balcony or terrace overlooking the sea, and each one is attractively furnished in an individual way, with its own colour theme. No timetables or dress code to worry about here, and the staff are always happy to help you with anything you might need. I recommend arriving by boat transfer – what a way to start your holiday!

ACCOMMODATION

Please note the villa is reached via 90 steps from the road to the path which brings you to the front gate.
Accommodation is arranged over three main levels.

Entrance gate leading to upper terrace and outdoor heated Jacuzzi.
Entrance hall.
Open plan living/dining room (fireplace, TV, DVD, VCR) with sea views.
Six double bedrooms, all with ensuite shower rooms and WC, and all with air conditioning. Each room has a private balcony or terrace with views over the Gulf of Positano.

Grounds:
An external staircase leads through the garden down to the lowest terrace where the 10m x 10m swimming pool (depth 2.3m), pool house and steam room/Turkish bath are located. There are outdoor dining and seating terraces with sea views.
Portable charcoal BBQ, pizza oven, small lawn. Small gym.

Please note: the grounds are steeply terraced (care with young children) and partially enclosed. There is no parking at this villa.
