DESCRIPTION OF THE VILLA

Capri villa with pool near the Blue Grotto – this villa is a rare find, a private villa with pool in a garden setting that offers breathtaking views across the Gulf of Naples to Mount Vesuvius on the mainland. Tucked away on a small lane between the centre of Anacapri and the Blue Grotto, Villa Isola is within walking distance of a restaurant, shops, beaches and the famous Blue Grotto and its crystal-clear waters, where you can swim after 5pm.

Villa Isola has been owned by the same prominent family for decades and has been furnished with a thoughtful blend of antique and contemporary furnishings. Partly air-conditioned, with televisions in every bedroom and a myriad of extra services available by arrangement, this house is ideal for those looking to get away from it all and experience life on this lovely island. The local restaurant is just a stone’s throw away, but if you prefer to eat in without having to cook, they will deliver to the villa for you. If you are also planning evenings out, a ten-minute drive will bring you to the legendary Piazzetta, which is the centre of Capri for locals and tourists alike – the hub of the island. Boasting pavement cafes, elegant restaurants, glamorous shops and famous nightclubs, it is arguably the most fashionable square in the world.

Culturally there is plenty to do on Capri: the villa is only a ten-minute walk from a Roman archaeological site, of which there are several on the island, and there are film, dance and folklore festivals as well as live music and concerts by moonlight. If you like walking you can climb up Monte Solaro to reach the island’s highest point (or take the chairlift instead!) to enjoy stunning panoramic views. If you decide to travel further afield you can also take the ferry and visit some of the major attractions on the mainland: the Amalfi coast, Sorrento, Positano and Pompeii. Villa Isola would make the perfect base for a truly unforgettable holiday in one of the world’s most stunning locations.

INSIDER TIPS

Villa Isola is a great base for a holiday on the stylish island of Capri.  This tiny island packs a big punch, with great restaurants and a buzzing atmosphere. Beautiful coastal scenery and opportunities for fishing and day excursions to the mainland.  There is a great local restaurant within a 10 minute walk, Giorgio al Cucciolo, who will also deliver to you!  There are lots more restaurants in Anacapri, and in the town of Capri, we’d recommend Il Geranio overlooking the Faraglioni for a really special meal out.
