DESCRIPTION OF THE VILLA

Amalfi Coast luxury villa with seafront location – this stunning villa typifies the very best the Amalfi coast has to offer. Set in a truly privileged position on the promontory, every level offers uninterrupted views of the Mediterranean sea and the Praiano headland. As you approach the villa down a flight of tree-lined steps and through a flower-filled garden onto the upper terrace, you are welcomed with glorious views. Surrounding the house are several large terraces that make the most of the breathtaking setting. Continue descending and you will reach the impressive sea-water pool, carved into the rock just above sea level. A private mooring alongside means you can access the villa directly by boat if you prefer. An ideal holiday retreat!

The ‘Amalfi Drive’ is said to be the most spectacular road in Europe, running from Sorrento across the peninsula and along the coast to Salerno, but it is not for the faint-hearted, and you may prefer to arrive or travel around by boat. As well as the private mooring at the villa you can easily access the many hydrofoils and ferries which link the villages along the peninsula with Capri, Ischia, Sorrento, Naples and the less developed Cilento coast further south. Owing to the steep terrain, many of the villages are mostly pedestrian and therefore best seen on foot. Quaint shops line the narrow streets and restaurants serve a variety of local produce, including of course wonderful seafood dishes.

There are many trips which run from nearby Sorrento: a day trip to the islands of Capri or Ischia is a must, as is a visit to fascinating Pompei where excavations begun in the 18th century are still ongoing, or a visit to Mount Vesuvius where you can climb up to the crater and admire the views over the Bay of Naples.

INSIDER TIPS

This lovely house was built by the choreographer of La Scala at the famous Milan Opera House. One of his main passions was fishing from the terraces. In fact it is an amazing property which has been designed and built to give a feeling of being onboard a ship at sea and the same amount of space is devoted to the terraces as to the indoor accommodation. This is the perfect place to enjoy the Amalfi coast in a really relaxed outdoor setting, with a breathtaking view of the sea at every turn. The beach of Marina di Praia is located 1 km in the direction of Praiano. It is one of the rare beaches that can be reached by car, and has pay parking facilities. It is a romantic place to spend an enchanting evening amidst seaside restaurants and entertainment venues.

ACCOMMODATION

Three-storey villa with sea views from most rooms and all terraces.
Approximately 45 stairway steps from the parking area going down a short private walkway that cuts through the garden and leads to the ground floor.

Ground floor/entrance level:
Large panoramic terrace with outdoor dining.

Lower ground floor:
Large open-plan living room (TV, CD, DVD), open fireplace, French doors to large, panoramic terrace, sea views.

Lower floor:
All bedrooms are air-conditioned.
4 double bedrooms, each with ensuite bathroom, separate shower and WC.
Some of the double beds can be split into twins if requested, please contact our staff in advance to make arrangements.
Well equipped Kitchen with a five-burner gas cooker, an electric oven, a refrigerator with freezer, a dishwasher, an Italian-style coffee-maker and a kettle. The kitchen has a window overlooking the terrace.

Annex (50m up flight of steps from the main villa):
2 air-conditioned double bedrooms each with ensuite bathroom, separate shower and WC.
1 air-conditioned double bedroom with external access, ensuite bathroom.

Grounds:
Large, enclosed, steeply terraced grounds with rocky steps down to access the pool – and ladder to access sea. Private mooring. 14m x 7m shaped, sea water pool with separate children’s pool, both carved into the rock just above sea level (depth from 20cm – 1m in children’s pool and up to 3m in main pool). Garden and lawn on upper/entrance level of villa. Pond. Ample outdoor living and dining space on terraces overlooking the sea. Parking for up to 4 cars.

Owing to the nature of the grounds we do not recommend this villa for children under 7 years old. Children must not be allowed to go to the swimming pool alone – they must be supervised at all times.

SERVICES AT THIS AMALFI COAST LUXURY VILLA RENTAL

Included: Maid service 5 hours per day, 7 days per week. Chef service for breakfast, lunch and dinner (cost of food extra). Air-conditioning. Linen change twice weekly. Telephone for incoming calls only. WiFi internet. Pool towels. The service staff (chef and cleaning staff) live on site in a secluded and private area.

Extras: Additional maid service €15 per hour. Electricity on consumption (over 130 kWh per week). A local tourist tax may apply.
